If it is time to look for a new set of sofa bed sheets for that guest bed or you are looking for the first time, this is a great time to buy. For various reasons in our economy, pricing and availability are such that you can find about any style you are looking for. When it comes to finding the best sheets, there are a few variables to consider. We will discuss these briefly here on this site. You might find that there are some specific questions that you have regarding your bedding needs that are not found here. For example, you may be looking specifically for futon bed sheets, for your convertible futon. If this is the case, you can do a search online for that exact term or follow this link to this futon mattress site.

Finding sheets for your sofa is simply a matter of getting the right fit for your particular style of sofa. If you have a traditional fold out style with the metal support spring and frame structure, then you are probably in the full or queen mattress size category. These are the most popular. In most situations, you can probably get by with a set of sheets that will fit a traditional mattress, but getting specific sheets for your sofa just fit that much better. The right fitting sheets will work better and stay in place if you fold the sofa up each evening to allow for more space during the day.

What Type of Sofa Bed Sheets Are There

Do you have something specific in mind or are you simply browsing to see what is available? If you have something more specific or determined in mind, then this site is probably more of a refresher for you regarding what is available. Here you can find some basic pricing information and some ideas regarding styles. If you know what you want regarding the brand of sheets or the exact type of sofa you have, then you will be best served by looking elsewhere on the web. You might have better luck typing in the exact name in your favorite search engine.  Keep in mind that you may find the terms daybed bedding and bedding for your sofa to be synonymous.  Don't let this fool you, for the most part, they can be quite similar depending on make and model of course.

Enough about how to find the right sheets, here you are. So, let’s discuss some options. There are of course the basic styles made with cotton. But, you can also find sofa sheets that are made in flannel and more luxurious silk sheets as well. The key difference in sofa bedding is the size and sometimes the fitted sheet. On some styles, the fitted sheet portion has extra straps to wrap around the bottom corners of the mattress keeping it more stable in place for folding. This way, your sheets don’t all end up in a ball or fall off when you close it up. Of course, if you are putting it away after a guest leaves, you will be washing them, but you may choose to keep them on the sofa to store them. Some people save room in their linen closet by doing this. After all, they might even be kept better protected as the dust and moths and such that they are exposed to in the closet will not be able to get to them if kept on the bed. Some people would consider this a social blunder, but if it is just close friends or family, do you really care all that much?

Another thing to note is that the better fitting sofa bedding will allow for the sofa itself to be closed better. If you use standard size bedding sheets, the sofa may not close properly, affecting its function. Over time, this can cause undue stress on the foldable hinge mechanism. Yet another idea to keep in mind regarding these sheets for your sofa mattress is that the proper sized sheets will be better for your guests to sleep with and on. Think about it, if your sheets are made for a larger bed, they may not be too large to allow for comfortable sleep.

Finally, let’s talk pricing for sofa bed sheets. These types are not much more than standard bedding. You can expect to pay approximately $50-150 USD for a twin or full size up to about $200 USD for queen sized sofa sleeper bedding. Keep in mind that these prices are for simple cotton sheets. The more luxurious silks or natural bedding like organic cottons will cost more. Compare these prices to traditional bedding and you’ll see that there isn’t much of a difference, especially when you take into account the better fitting and functioning nature of the sofa sheets.
